As an employer, you are responsible for the safety and health of employees in the workplace. This general principle particularly applies if your company handles hazardous substances. In this situation, you are required to take into account all circumstances that potentially affect the health and safety of your employees at work. However, statutory policy only contains protection objectives relative to occupational safety. At the same time, the room for manoeuvre that comes with it for the entrepreneur translates to considerable responsibility.
While the protection level described in the Hazardous Substances Ordinance (GefStoffV) has wording on standards and options for acting on health and safety protection, it is the employer's responsibility within the framework of workplace assessment to ascertain whether the permissible limit values are being observed.
As an accredited measurement authority, Müller-BBM will provide you not only with appropriate measurement methods, but also a competent assessment of the measured values. In addition to recording existing exposure to harmful substances using recognized measurement methods, we will also draw up complete workplace analyses as specified in TRGS 402 (Technical Rules for Hazardous Materials, here: Ascertaining and assessing risks when working with hazardous substances: Exposure to substances through inhalation). We will elaborate an appropriate monitoring measurement plan and advise you during implementation of measures designed to minimize exposure. In this way, our services will provide you with certainty when assessing the workplace.
Should your company lack personnel with the relevant technical knowledge as provided under occupational safety law, then we can also undertake to provide safety-related supervision of your company.
